I'm going out with some friends, and I've realized that I have no fashion sense. I'm going to wear a pair of dark jeans, and a chocolate brown shirt, with blue vertical stripes. What color should I wear under the shirt (I plan on keeping the top few buttons undone)?

If they stripes are thin, wear a plain shirt [ tee ] with the same tone of blue underneath. DON'T WEAR A POLO THOUGH ! Lol that'll just look weird. If the shirt it mainly brown, the brown shirt under will look like too much, so don't go with brown. . . Anyways if you don't have a blue shirt to match just a white or khaki plain shirt under should look fine! Good luck! =) And just be confident of yourself! Don't put yourself down by saying you have no fashion sense, you probably picked that shirt out yourself, brown and blue are good colors! If you're wearing black jeans, don't wear a brown shirt with blue vertical stripes. That's so not cool. I suggest you wear the shirt (which doesn't sound so flattering but oh well) over a brown or blue t-shirt the same color of the shirt. You shouldn't button the shirt up, you should wear the plain tshirt and put the shirt over it as kind of like a jacket without buttoning anything up. Wear that with regular jeans. I'm sure about this because my mom works in fashion and I've inherited some of her style skills

An off white t-shirt would look good . Wear a casual necklace (if you're into jewelry) or some colorful shoes to make brighten things up (since your torso will be dark).
If you decide to change the shirt, just make the color stand out from the jeans and vice versa. I think things look best when that happens. (I personally like graphic shirts on guys).

dont wear a striped shirt wear a plain blue shirt leave 2 or 3 buttons undone and dont wear an under shirt at all!
