It depends on your opinions. Assuming you're considering a political career, I would you to keep your personal opinions to yourself and offer voters fresh ideas, rational debate on the issues, and innovative ways of implementing your concepts.
Most politicians offer hollow promises, based on what they think people want to hear. While your ideas might be unpopular, if they're based on sound principles and logic, many voters would view that as refreshing, radical, and worthwhile.
Assuming also that you're young, such a unique platform might propel you into the limelight - your biggest detractors, of course, will be the 'career' politicians and party opponents who prefer the 'status quo'.
I wouldn't worry about 'survival' - I'd worry about principle, substance, honor, and follow-through; something few politicians concern themselves with these days. -RKO- 10/07/07

Well, that is going to depend on what some of your opinions are. Also it will depend on how you express yourself. If what you have to say is not to far to the right, I will back you. If it makes sense. On the other hand, if what you have to say is idiotic, I will let you know. Not in a treating way but more on the lines of a debate.

You will be the first politician that I know of who has ever done that but I don't think you would last very long, but have a go and good luck.
