It's too "Unusual" i suppose. . .

I liked it before it became so popular.

As far as being trendy, there sure are a lot of "aden" babies in the world today (Aiden, Jayden, Caden, Brayden, etc.).
Caden was the 91st most popular baby boy name in the U.S. during the year 2006. Cade, however, was only ranked at 288.

I don't think it is masculine sounding. Perhaps that is because I only know little boys with this name. It doesn't sound feminine; it just sounds like a name for a little boy.

I give Caden a 6 on a scale of 1 -10.

It's an alternate spelling of my own name so I love it, lol.
I can tell you one thing though, I changed my name, it's not my birth name, I wouldn't have done so if I didn't like the name.
I think it's within the category of name that works well for our time, it IS masculine, but not overly gruff-sounding and rough.
Considering I chose it as my own name it shouldn't come as a surprise that I rate it ten.

To the people above who say Caden is becoming too popular, I know no one named Caden other than myself.

To those who say the name is unisex, by some definitions it is, but the majority of people who bear this name are males (Like 90%).

To the raving moron who seems to have the idiotic opinion that people are naming their children with weird names these days and just 'making things up', people used the name Zion many years ago, and Caden is derived from the name Cathen which is gaelic in origin.
Piper is not a particularly new name either.
You represent a minority group if not the only one of such a side that is supposedly 'annoyed' by trendy names.

do you like this name? Yes I like it
is it too trendy? Yes, for this reason I wouldn't use it
Is it masculine sounding? Yes to me it is masculine

Rating = 5 (due to trendiness)

If there wasn't such a trend for Caden, Hayden, Aidan, Jayden, Brayden and even Zayden right now I would like it. Given the popularity of these combined sounding names I wouldn't use any of them right now myself.

If you look at different spellings for names, Aidan, Jayden and Caden are in the top 25. Here is a link:

I like Caden when I first heard it before the explosion of similar sounding names, but that was about 10 years ago. It first showed on the top 1000 list by the SSA in 1992, and quickly rose to the top 100.

If this doesn't bother you, go ahead and use it.

Independently, it's a great name. Especially since you've spelled it properly -- a rarity ;) -- so I'm assuming this isn't simply a trendy random choice for you.

Unfortunately, it does blend in with all the other rhyming "Aidans" currently so popular. Not necessarily a horrible thing, since Aidan, Braden, Caden, Hayden, Jadon and the like are all actual names that just happen to be similar, but once you add in all the common misspellings (Ayden, Braedann, Caidyn, Haidin, Jayden, etc.) and completely contrived variations with absolutely no history of usage (Dreydon, Zaiden, etc. LOL), Caden itself can FEEL overused and insubstantial right along with them, if that makes sense.

So really, it just depends on your own personal attachment to the name. Is it one you'd planned on using long before the current trend was even on the radar? Will it bother you -- or are you concerned it might bother your child -- if some assume it "just another -aden," or there are several children with the same name, or a rhyming version, in his class?

In a vacuum, I would give the name 9 out of 10. But in light of the current trend toward this and other very-similar names, it's not one I would personally use, and without knowing if it had personal significance or if the parents were using it IN SPITE OF the trendiness (rather than because of it), I'd have to admit I'd likely assume it simply another popular Aidan, Braden, Jadon, know what I mean?

Hope that helps. ;)

10! I just love the name Caden. I also like it spelled Cayden, Kayden, and Kaden. I think it's a great name. No, I don't think it's too trendy, and yes - I think it is masculine sounding. But, you want that for a boy. Caden sounds cutesy for when he's little, but when he grows up, I think it'll fit him well. The masculine aspect and all.

In my opinion it is too trendy and there are way to many different spellings of this. If i had to use it i would spell it Cayden. Caden looks incomplete and i would pronounce this CA-DUN.
I would give it 2/10.

Also it is all boy. Some people think that this could be a girls name but it would be extremely cruel to give a girl this name since it is a BOYS name. This also goes for Jayden, Hayden and Dylan.

yes i like it a lot, it unusual, and not to trendy. It will also be easy for the baby to write and even though it is unique its still easy to pronounce.
I dont think that it is to trndy, i think it is just cool and new sounding. I tink it sounds very masculine and it comes from the name cathan which means battle so what can be more masculine than battle.
On a scale of one to ten i think i would give it a 9.
But in the end its up to you, i would want to be sure i liked the name of my child for i will be calling it for a very long time.

I really like it but I do think it is too trendy to use as a first name. He will definitely be one of many -adens in his classes. I do really like the name though but i'm not sure it ages well. I can't really picture it on anybody older than like 10.

I would give it a 3 or 4.

On a scale of one to ten, I'd rate it in the negatives.

It's an awful name. Far too trendy and just plain horrible.

I absolutely love the name Caden but my husband doesn't really like it. I think it's masculine sounding and i'd have to give it a 10. It's my favorite boy name!
