Here is a site about propagating tropical hibiscus but since a confederate rose tree is a hibiscus it should work the same:

Good Luck

You can also dig the plant up and divide it at the roots.

My mother-in-law does this every fall. She has a huge tree that blooms pink & white on the same tree....it's beautiful. All she does is this.....

In the fall, before the weather starts freezing, she cuts the limbs back, places them in a 5 gallon bucket, fills the bucket with water, sets them INSIDE her shed/warehouse away from the bitter cold. The only thing she does after that is make sure she keeps water inside the bucket during the winter months. In the Spring, the limbs have taken root....it's just that simple. She roots her beautiful "Angel Trumpets", the exact same way, too. Works like a charm:-)

Hopefully this little bit of info will help you out. Good luck, and happy rooting!!!!

I think they will also sprout from seed. I say this because, my wife has one on the corner of the house and now there is one about half way down the flower bed with no work on her part.

to root any rose, you need to take a root cutting of the root stock and when this has rooted, take a bud chip cutting and graft it to the root stock
