hair i have left...aint no corvette techs anywhere near me...For Heavens sake can anyone tell me why the wiper panel pops up when i switch the car off...wipers work fine when car is running panel up and down when wiper switch is turned on...otherwise: 1 1970 corvette for sale ..going cheap.slight vacuum problem.

Is there a vacuum diaphram inline to the door (one way check valve)? It may either need one or the one there replaced. If not check the actuator on the door itself, it may have a small crack in it that the engine vacuum can hold pressure with but when the engine is off it leaks and raises the door, does it happen quickly or just creep open?

Vacuum has absolutely nothing to do with your wiper problems. The wiper motor is electric and there are sets of points inside the wiper motor which cause it to the park position when the switch is turned off. If one of the sets of points is bent or out of position the wipers will continue to run even if the dash switch is off.

rewire wipers for off is off, check wiper switch to see if it has a short in it
