It's not that easy. You have a contract with a bank or mortgage company. They don't care about your relationship and you are both liable for the repayment of the debt.

I believe there are only two realistic options:

First, is for your ex to refinance the property with a new mortgage that pays off the first mortgage. You will also be off the title of the property.

Second, is to sell the property and pay off the mortgage.

I can't imagine any mortgage company letting you off the mortgage without one of the above happening.

Good luck!

You really need to speak with a lawyer and the bank holding the mortgage, they may not agree to let you off. If the mortgage was given with your income being considered they may not agree. This can be a tricky situation which is why I suggest a lawyer, in the long run his fees may be a lot cheaper than what could happen. Also keep in mind your credit rating is at stake here.

She's been efficiently dealt with for a case of pyometria yet should be bred her next season ... and that i can't be waiting to coach yet another provider canines for no less than a 365 days... so besides the reality that her domestic dogs would be offered for $1800-$2000 each and every and that i'd certainly make money this time if each and every thing is going nicely ( massive if!!!) I nonetheless am in basic terms breeding her because of the fact I ought to... regularly in the hopes that she'll nonetheless be intact and breedable in 18 mos or 2 years whilst i'm waiting to coach yet another provider canines. ( She has solid genetics, uncommon bloodline, astounding working temperament, alluring shape and produces incredibly mind-blowing working canines.. so i'd particularly not in basic terms spay her) maximum money I ever made on a clutter grew to become into 19 cents an hour... i can %. up soda cans alongside the line and make greater desirable than that.

I you were foolish enough to put your name on the mortgage, be careful. If he stops paying, it is all on you.

To get your name off the mortgage, he has to buy you out. Good luck. Take any reasonable offer he gives you. Trust me, if if all you have to do is pay the fees, you will have gotten off easily.

If she wants to keep the house and make the payments then she will have to refiance the loan into her name only, also title will have to be changed. You will have to be present at closing to sign the title work removing you from title. She will, traditionally have to pay closing costs and fees.

It depends if you're male or female. If you're male than you'll pay sooner or later. But if you're female than sue him and he will have to pay.
