For nerves: From http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/joomla/content/view/122/64/
These are tips for actors, but the same applies to any performer:
In some ways, overcoming stage fright in a performance is very similar to overcoming nervousness in an audition. By far the most important way to avoid stage fright is to be fully prepared. If you are worried about blocking, remembering your lines, what scene comes next, choreography, etc, then who could blame you for being afraid? Put in the time and effort early on in the rehearsal process and you will feel more confident about your abilities.
Keeping yourself organized offstage can go a long way to avoiding panic as well. If you have a large role, keeping a chart of your responsibilities over the course of the show will keep you focused on what you have to do next.
Having butterflies before a performance is normal for all performers, even professionals, but if you have done everything you can to prepare and keep yourself organized and stage fright is still a serious problem, I think it is important to really think about why it is you continue to perform. Obviously there must be something you enjoy about it or you wouldn't continue - so concentrate on that, and try to address what specifically is making you nervous.

There are more available on the web of course.
For a song, try Summer Nights from Grease. It will convey a very High School Musical feel.

the trick to nailing an audition is to be confident, walk as if you own the show. if the director sees you're nervous, he'll think you'll mess up the show...and you dont want that, right? hehe. anyway, Ã think it's pretty awesome you have ashley's voice. If i were you I'd make a list of the songs you like the most performed by ashley t. one of my favorites is from HSM1, "Bop to the top". it was kinda catchy, you could that one. or maybe you could do one performed by Vanessa Hudgens, I liked Breaking Free.
hope this helps you out. and remember, DONT BE NERVOUS. You'll do much better knowing you're confident. Break a leg!

Amazing Mayzie from Suessical the Musical would be a good song to audition with. There is no way to get rid of pre-audition nerves, trust me, but just remember to sing loudly.

pick a song that you can sing that sounds good, get your family or friends together and do a fake audition in front of them and ask them to be honst with you about your performance, that should help you. also use a mirror to see your own facail express's ,if the song calls for emotion you "l want to express it while you sing. don't pick a song just because it's in. do one that will go with your voice, don't try to be any one else be your self and practice alot. don't go for the lead roles untill you are ready tostand in front of a alot of poeple and do your act. remeber no one is perfect, so do your best and think posiveitve.
