Lol. One of them must have really put a bee in your bonnet. How come?
Truth is, teachers get called to teach different subjects, they dont necessarily teach their specialties in college.
However, teaching is done with standard books and curriculum and each "teacher" simply parrots the days lesson and gives out a standard test form, daily plan etc. You get the picture.
Every professional for that matter is molded from the same cast of "current" expectations and standards.
Math as we know it, may be wrong so go forth, reveal its true nature , change the math world and good luck.

They know it but their teaching mechanics are probably bad. I had a teacher about 10 years ago who was really good at math but she taught the subject like everyone already knew it. I didn't know a thing and barely failed with a 36. =)

I hate math, but in defense of math teachers, I believe most of them know their math but don't know how to explain it to people like me who just don't get it! Their brain works a certain way and they think the rest of us have brains/thought processes like theirs, but we don't! I need math explained to me in more than one way. How many times does a math teacher just use the same type of problem and solution over and over without varying the way he/she explains it?
