I trust people implicitly, I always assume that they are telling the truth until they give me proof that they're not.

I guess I am pretty much a PollyAnna in that respect, as well. I trust people until they let me down.

Yes the amount of times I've done that & come unstuck
I try never to tell an untruth just streach the truth a bit (well a lot)

I have a hard time trusting people as a result of previous wrong doings.. I am always on guard..

Well so do I and I often wonder to myself at this point and time you think I would have learned something....only to say well I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes though people lie to themselves so it's one of those faith deals, huh? I know.

I always give the benefit of the doubt initially - - - Then as Opera says , " When someone shows you who they truly are , believe them the first time ."

hard question to answer because it depends on the person, if it is a person i know then i would use past experiences to judge! if it was someone i just met then i would use intuition and first impression!
