God wants us to be mindful of heavenly things! He wants us to make investments in heavenly things. The Bible refers to treasures on earth and treasures in heaven. Treasures on the earth are temporary in nature, hard to come by, and easily lost. Treasures in heaven are permanent in nature, and cannot be lost or stolen. So therefore, if you treasure or value things on earth then that's where your heart or passion truly is. If you treasure or value heavenly things, then that's where your passions are....truly. So don't treasure after earthly things for they are easily lost and of no value.

Treasure is what you value the most. Let's say you wanted to be a rock star. You will be spending your time and talent and money on things that will assist you in becoming a rock star. Chances are you will be talking about music all the time and planning endless auditions and rehearsals while spending every last dime on equipment and promotional items. This is where your heart will be. All of this can be destroyed in a moment with one disease or car crash or whatever. If your treasure is you hope of Heaven then you will be spending all this energy and time on something that can not ever be destroyed unless you want to destroy it.
Hope that helps.

The mind of man is creative. All that you see and experience was a thought before it was real. The Kingdom is within. The broad way to destruction is the outward path where one tries to hold on to material positions. The narrow way is the inward path where you think and believe things that are of love (Christ consciousness, God consciousness & being attained to faith). Where your ego meets with being is where you connect to God. It is the place where you and the creator meet to produce your outward reality. The one who recognizes that the spiritual (inward) path creates his world is the one who begins to learn the true meanings of the teachings of Holy text.
Love your God with all your heart and soul. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Both of these two are the entire teaching... Everythihg else is just commentary. Essentially these say the same thing because God is in all that you experience. Thus when you treat someone with kindness and love, you are treating God with kindness and love.
Your treasure is where the kingdom is. The kingdom is within.
Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

What you treasure is the psychological core of being who you are. You may have been conditioned to do what others expect of you, or to replicate their behaviors, but your real intrinsic power lies in reconnecting to the truth of what you love.
Ever felt like "my heart is just not in this"? There is an actual physiological connection between heart/mind that produces a measurable 'field' that neuro-cardiologists are beginning to study. When you are 'certain' of this truth (what you treasure) - there is an experience of centered-ness (heart level) that connects to a creative 'source' at the mind level (neo-cortex) that is causative. It is a powerful state of consciousness.

Whatever you think about the most is your "treasure" and that is were your heart is. Some worldly examples might be: money, cars, prestige or power, relationships, alcohol or drugs, sex, etc.
In John chapter 4, Jesus told the woman at the well, "whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him (her) shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
In other words, if I might borrow the words of an old but still very meaningful song by Helen Lemmel:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face,
and the things of earth will grow strangely dim
in the light of His glory and grace.

If you hold your treasure here on earth with your heart, earth is where your heart is.
If you hold your treasure in heaven with your heart, heaven is where your heart is. Nothing is more important than the treasures we store up in heaven.

It is a process that happens deep in the sanskaras and it is related also to the law of karma. It actually means that whatever you consider to belong to you and you call it ''mine'' you will remember that automatically without effort. So there is also a yukti here that if you wish to become as elevated as possible consider only God to be yours and you will automatically and easily remember Him. So this is the easy way of being that which many try to be with a lot of effort - to be Manmanabhav (meaning to remember God constantly).
Just try it. Say from the heart 'My Baba' or wahtever name you have for God: 'My dearest and sweetest most wonderful God...'.... then you fly....:)
Go on, try it...:)

I'm not sure, but I think he meant, u know, if u value something, ur gonna put ur heart and soul into preserving it, and even passing it on to ur kids...as a legacy. That's what religion is supposed to be for most people.

It means that whatever or whoever you love more than you love God, that is your "god" or "treasure". You should not love anything or anyone more than you do the Lord.
