Was Marie Antoinette REALLY fond of petticoats?

Im doing a historical costume, I need to know. Or should I make it like dresses are made in the theatre, looking like they have lots of petticoats but are lightweight?

I think she was, but make it looking like there are lots of petticoats but are actually lightweight.
