British Asian is usually used for those with ancestry from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc.
There isn't a particular term for those with Chinese or Japanese ancestry.

Although people do use the term Black British, it is not used by all.
People also refer to the British Afro-Caribbean community.

There isn't a set agenda about this, I have heard varying arguments. The BNP apparently claim that they just want the UK to be full of 'British' people and don't want anymore Immigrants or Asylum Seekers. In terms of Black-British and British Asians (which I am) I heard that 2nd Generation British Asians/Blacks are 'good enough' to stay. Any Generation before that are proposed to leave. The BNP themselves don't even know what they want. They really just want 'White' Britain back but they know they will just be labeled as Racist, so they sugar-coat everything they say. During the undercover BBC Documentary, one BNP member said he wanted to shoot all Muslims, but Idk what religion has to do with being British, I thought religion was a personal choice; so obviously the BNP have a hidden agenda. You can maybe watch the Documentary on the BBC website. The BNP had to apologise for what they said. During on of the speeches, they said tht African's have bought nothing but disease and aids. But like you said, they are just modern day Nazis. People who vote for them are even worse. I can't believe people can be so ignorant in this day and age. acb123 is right. They are just a bunch of chavs in some cheap suits.

It's an uniquely American thing to hypenate. Partially because most other countries are much older, and thus people have been citizens for much longer. When immigrants come, they are known simply by their country of origin.
The thing is in America, we all sort of got here at the same time (relatively speaking) so for American to mean only 'white' is insulting- at least to me. I have to admit I never really understood this until I traveled overseas and people refused to call me 'American'. They would tell me, "You're not American, you're 'just' Black"- it was weird not to be treated the same as my White American counterparts, even though I had similar beliefs and values. The Asian American on our trip felt the same way I did. We felt like people had stripped us of a big part of our back ground. So when I came back, I picked up the 'American' part because I needed to.

You get asians & blacks in Britain (Britain is Scotland, England,N,Irleand, &Wales) so if they live in Britain, but outside England, they're liable to take as much offence about being called Asian/African English as you are being called Canadian,
They're called Asian, just Asian

hm....good question....is there other countries as presumptously prideful as americans
UU ASK Y....i believe blacks are called "african american"...and they were not here "reletively the same time" as others, whatever that means. We label because we feel intelligent by distinguishing. It's not to degrade...no...of course not.
