I wouldn't generalize it to simply whether there are good fast food restaurants--It really depends on the owner and the management.

I would recommend working for a corporate owned location (as opposed to a franchisee, your paycheck will say McDonald's Corporation instead of ABC Company dba McDonald's). You have a higher chance of being promoted beyond service in the restaurants and the company has a higher incentive to treat you right (public relations).

However, I do believe Chick-fil-A would be a better place to work than restaurants that are more well known.

I do not recommend to anyone to work in the fast food restaurant business but if you must i would say McDonald's would be the best as for as a little security in the fast food industry. If you look around there is and will always be a McDonald's around. If you are able go to school get a good education or trade and find yourself a better paying job. if you like the food industry go to school to learn to be a chef or something. Fast food restaurants or shall i say ALL JOBS is what you make of it and if that is the best you can do right now look at the bright side of it YOU HAVE A JOB. :-)

there are numerous good fast food restaurants to work at. it all depends on management as to how it is run. there is not a business in the world that does not have something about it that someone does not like. fast food is dealing with customers and usually other crew and management that are relatively new to the job they have. fast food was never meant to be a career for many only a few. for most fast food is a way to learn good job skills to get you a better job. fast food jobs help you pay to go to school, give you a chance to work and safe money while you are young and generally work a lot of part-time help that have limited availability. any job is what you make of it. a job is a job it is called work for a reason. your job pays for the things you desire or enjoy doing. if you realize and use your job as a stepping stone to better yourself you will find it is not so bad.

It depends on you age. If you are old enough and have a car, I worked ten years as a pizza delivery driver and it was a good part time gig. And all of the younger kids seemed to enjoy it on the inside as a pizza delivery place. Seems to be a little more relaxed than a normal dine in restaurant.

It is dealing the Public - that remains the same no matter where you work.
I have never heard a positive remark from an employee at a fast food restaurant. Employees are just the 'tool' for making the big bucks for the franchise.
If I have any other choice , I avoid the fast food places.

I think Subway is a great place to work. I like the fact that there is no grease, so you don't go home smelling like stale greasy french fries. They strive for great customer service in a clean environment. I also agree with above, it does depend on management too. Our store has a great manager that has been there for 8 years (me! :)

I read an article a while ago that also said Chick-fil-A, esp. if you're religious because they're a Christian based company (it's right in their mission statement, I think), and the store's closed on Sundays.

But if it was me, I'd work at a Chipotle. mmm.

i suggest you not work at a fast food restaurant again if you had bad experiences with your previous jobs at fast food restaurants. haven't you learned anything?
