Hi, I am 14 weeks pregnant and I am wondering if it is okay to dye my hair whilst I am pregnant. What are your opinions?

I am a hairdresser and there really is no proof that coloring your hair can be harmful to the baby, I wouldn't do anything until you are were in your second trimester. I would also have it done professionally rather that using box dye, and ask them to use the lowest volume peroxide, like 10 volume. And depending on your hair color you might be able to get away with highlights ,which are safer because it doesn't touch the scalp. If you don't have any gray you can also ask your hairdresser for a semi-permanent hair color. It won't last as long as permanent dye but it's safer, but it dooesn't cover gray very well. Talk it over with your hairdesser, they'll know what is best for you. And also, check with your dr just to make sure.

I dont have first hand journey as ive by no potential been pregnant, yet i believe that on the beginning up of the being pregnant you're cautioned to not use hair dye. i think of that throughout the time of a protracted time interior the being pregnant you will get the ok. I do remember my sisiter in regulation after some months saying she were given the circulate forward and could now coloration her hair. the superb element to do is ask the surgeon or your mid spouse could comprehend. extra clever to be secure. Im particular this wont be the only question you have!! good success with the infant.

Some people will say no and some will say yes. I asked my doctor and he said that even if some of the chemicals do reasch the blood stream it's only for a short time and it won't cause any baby damage. It would be different if you were working in a hair salon and were exposed daily to it.
Some salons do have natural vegetable dyes you could try to get you through pregnancy........but the short term exposure won't cause any damage/

If you have any concern dont risk it. I have heard that semi permanent dye should be ok but not permanent.
But i wouldnt just take a guess. Find a dye you like and ring the help line on the box and ask them on the customer service number as every dye has different ingredients.

Ask your doctor if you are concerned, but many women do it all the time with absolutely no problems. Most women who dye their hair during pregnancy wait until the second trimester, so you are fine.

I did and my baby came out healthy. I was told the way they make hair dye today is different from what they use to be, and is much safer to use today.
