lucky you. ive just got back from rhodes and i loved it. trips i recommend are
1) lindos. get a bus, its cheap and you will be taken to lindos where you will find a beautiful little town complete with hard working donkeys carrying lazy tourists. at the top of the hill is the acropolis. well worth a visit. its a nice walk up the hill.
2) a ferry trip to marmaris turkey is an excellent day out. its best to book the day before you go.. it costs about £40 each in total but its worth it.
3) everywhere else. its a lovely island with lovely people. have a good time

As i am from Rhodes, i can inform you that the hotel is among the best of the island, in a nice high touristic place, and there is everything there, supermarkets, and the sea in front of you...
To go to the city you ll need transport, it is not so closed, but i also suggest you in a place called ''Kritika'' a very nice and cheap pizzeria also, where you can eat called ''Capri'', it is the pizzeria of some italian friends..Close to you...
