the area that is Greece what a part of the Turkish empire for many generations, and before that it was a part of the eastern Roman empire, byzantine.
So genetically and culturally the Greeks are a little Latin, a little Turkish and a little of a lot of others, and there is a little of the original Greeks in them too.

definite, it has affected my life plenty yet no longer quite. we don't pass on trip anymore, except it rather is to our trip domicile and basically for each week. We purchase basically the needed issues. we attempt to purchase super parts of foodstuff whilst there is an grant to some particular reliable, f.ex.olive oil. we don't pass out except it rather is barely for a coffee (to no longer consume or to have an icecream as an occasion, yet we didnt pass out to tavernas even earlier the disaster, we basically consume at domicile, i'm a reliable cooker haha). We circumvent making use of the automobile, as a results of fact the gas is ridiculously costly. We did no longer plant a backyard this twelve months, precisely as a results of gas expenditures, we want a fortune to return and pass and shield it. end: I grew up in an extremely everyday, center classification kinfolk, we've been boiling water on the kitchen to take a tub (approximately 1980). contemporary life standards are no longer undesirable for me, i will additionally stand residing with much less. I in basic terms desire that the area won't worsen.

i always pictured Greek people to be like how you are discribing, kinda similar to spanish..thats just watch i picture..no idea if its true. i just think the greece is a hot place and people tend to have darker with the sun, even if its a natural dark tone and not a tan..something to do with darker skin having more protection from the sun.
people in asutraila who are really fair skin have either moved there or was born there from ancestors who was deported there along long time ago from UK etc

I am blonde, and so are many Greeks, but what does that prove? First of all, it is highly contested that Ancient Greeks were blond etc., it is more posible that Homer and other writers would stress blond hair as a beautiful trait exactly because it was rare then as it is now.
Secondly, no one but Hitler has ever claimed racial purity! The fact is though that the Greek culture has remained strong and authentic, even if it has incorporated foreign genes.
Lastly, the church psalms are Byzantine music, which has been preserved intact in the church tradition, and it has nothing to do with oriental music, apart from the fact that oriental music has perhaps copied byzantine music, which was older.
And yes, babies are baptised after 1 year, what is the problem? It is made like a big ceremony, and the child has to be of an age that can actually take part in it.

I have visited Greece for many times and I really love Greece and Greeks.
I don't know were you found those fat uglie Greeks but I found all the types and a lot of blonds. Both Greek men and Greek women are very beautiful and I fell in love with one Greek goddess.
Visit a Greek island and you will find a lot of sun tanned dark people including Scandinavian.
So don't put judgment like that.

I agree with my friends Leonarda and Zigzag...
You are a provocker...
What's the problem with "dark" people ?
I don't care the colour, the religion of my friends, I like everyone...And the Greeks are beautiful people, and smart and educated...
I admire the Greeks, but I pity you...

Being in the crossroads of the Europe and Asia it's only natural that Greece has adopted some oriental elements. But make not mistake on this: Greece in all his history was a principally European Country, for example it is a Christian country unlike Albania wich is a Muslim country with no relations whatsover with European culture and therefore patently unadmissible to the European Union

No, it's not interesting at all. It's your personal, biased feeling towards the Greeks. You're just confirming what everybody knows: that the Albanians are racists, and you're no different because you're one of them. Haven't you got anything more productive or mind challenging to do in your small world than to spread hatred based on your own inbred misconceptions?
The Greeks I know are all different and certainly not the way you portray them here, on the contrary. But everybody sees what they want to (and can) see.

Homerus describes Aphrodite having black eyebrows, Athena the same.
It seems that you only watched Brand Pit in "Troia" and have this idea of blondy heared greeks.
Greeks are not at all fat with bellies, but they are Mediterranean.
Greeks are an educated folk, much more educated than other folks of europe,I had the opportunity to conclude it, when I was abroad.
The position of Greece is exactly in the edge of christian world, close to Muslims (Arabs and Turks). That's why in Greece these two worlds are meeting each other.
I hope that I helped you solve your questions about Greeks.

Alexa-- if you really did go to Greece (which I doubt) you would not have seen only dark curly-hair people. You would have seen people respresenting the entire spectrum of skin and hair coloring. As for the baptism, babies are usually baptised after one year, yes, sometimes less, sometimes more. The name is given at this time. How do you do it in Albania? You name the child as soon as it is born? The child is named before or after he is sold???? I was just wondering.....
