I work in an old people's home and I sing ... loudly. It's usually well received, especially by my ladies and gentlemen. I did once have a phone call from the senior in the office below the lounge I was singing in to ask me to turn the volume down a bit.
Singing on nightshift is frowned on so I try to 'whisper'.

Hum a merry tune, it's less annoying to my colleagues, whistling is irritating!

Darn good- i'm prevalent to belt out a toon. Whistle, hum, dance, you call it, i will do it to entertain the troops. somewhat on those days while everyone seems to be in a not so good temper!
