Neosure is for premature babies. It has extra calories. If your baby wasn't premature you shouldn't use that. But regular Similac, Enfamil, or Good Start will be ok. Try the baby on those first.. Regular milk based formula with DHA & ARA(lipil) and iron. If you see eating problems, lots of spitting up, painful gas(more then oridinary) screaming while eating, you might want to try Lacto-free or soy(with DHA&ARA and iron)
Good luck, its a trial and error thing. They also have gentle formulas and a million other kinds. It took is 5 months to find what worked for my son. He was allergic to milk protein. But at 7 months he wasn't anymore so we put him back on milk protein formulas(those are best for the baby)

Unless your baby has an allergy or a specific issue with gas, constipation, or reflux, I'd say any brand of formula is fine, however, look for something with DHA and ARA, nutrients found in breastmilk that stimulate brain development. Keep in mind that too much iron will cause constipation. I've also heard you should stay away from powdered formulas. They may be more convenient but they can harbor more bacteria. Also, you should not feed your baby cow's milk-based formula for at least 9 months, preferably a year. For some babies, it takes trying a few different formulas to find the one that agrees with them most. I still say breastfeeding is best so if it's not too late, give it a try...even if it's only part time. It really is the best nutrition and nothing beats it for bonding! It's also one of the few things in life that's free! Good luck to you and your baby.

You can pretty much start with any of the common formulas, like similac or enfamil. If you discover that baby has an allergy or is not tolerating the formula (gas, spit up, constipation), you can switch to one formulated for the specific problem. You may find that your baby is lactose intolerant, has a lot of gas or other issues with certain formulas. If you encounter a problem and your baby seems really fussy and uncomfortable, talk to your doctor. There are many different types of formulas, some are even prescription only, so there is something right for your baby.

Is this your baby?? If so I thought you would have made some formula in hospital and seen the tin. Or did you breastfeed in hospital and turn to bottles later?
Normally you pick a cows milk based formula, just a general run of the mill one it doesn't have to be the most expensive one either, that is more about personal preference. Unless your baby has sensitivities (which you will find out later after you start on the cows milk based formula) pick one which is either whey based or casien(?sp) based (basically meaning it is derived from cows milk). Good luck, hope it helps.

You can give them anything you want...just switch brand or type of formula by combining the two for a few days. Always keep a close eye on your infant to be sure that something he/she is ingesting isn't causing upset.
I started out with breast feeding and supplementing with formula while I was at work. I used the "name brand" but being a single working mother I couldn't afford "Name Brand" and found that the walmart or kroger brands worked just as well for my little one. But I've also found that she must have an iron tummy because she hasn't had any reaction to anything new that I've introduced...knock on wood.

you can give your baby any thing that you want- but try to stick to one brand of formula, otherwise the baby's stomach can get upset. Usually something that helps the baby's stomach to digest food better and causes less gas.
Conact the baby's perdiatrician of any questions that you may have..

Neosure is for premature babies. If your baby was premature, I would think your doctor would have given you info as to what to feed them.
