Rookie of the Year is a special award for a player that makes its best in his rookie season and only competes for that title with fellow rookies.
MVP award is better than a rookie award because he is chosen for exceptional skill of all the current players.
The most important award in any team games like basketball is the title. It is because it is what every player competes for. Also, a player who gains many championship title eventhough doesn't get a MVP award is given honorary presence, a big threat in the game.

No.
Just because it is a 'one chance' award doesn't mean it is most important. I think if you asked those who have won "Rookie of the Year" if that is the most important award to them (as opposed to MVP or winning the NBA Championship) they may appreciate being 'ROTY' but other goals are more important.
The 'ROTY' is, in my opinion, hard to justify. Some rookies go to teams that are just so bad that they alone can't improve the team. Some rookies go to teams loaded with established veterans so they don't have the same opportunity to 'shine.'
Being 'ROTY' is an honor, but not the most imporant award.

No, I disagree the most important award is the MVP and always will be. When your going for that award you only have one year, but lets face it even if you win that award it doesn't matter because some people who haven't won that award have become great players. For example Kobe he's my opinion the best player in the league right now and he didn't win that award.

you have a point but when you're a rookie, you're competing with rookies only for this award. so i still would prefer other awards. there's nothing like winning against the best, not the young or new.

to me the ROY award seems more lik an ecouragement award than anythin lol, not taking away anything from people lik amare or dwight or other ROY winners, but it definitely isnt that big of an award for the majority, but personally it is. MVP is always the most important. you have to carry the team to win it, ROY just have to post decent stats.

LOL! bulls did no longer even get to the third around during the 1994 playoffs. pippen became right into an excellent participant at that factor yet he wasn't purely the bypass-to-guy variety for the bulls at that factor. the reason in the back of their achievement became into with the aid of fact they have been a nicely balanced group. the project became into, therre became into no guy who'll score in streaks for the bulls. pippen became into greater perfect on the protective end incredibly than the offensive end. plus, if pippen became into greater advantageous than jordan, he could've gained yet another call or so after jordan retired 1998. yet he did no longer top? and did he gained any scoring titles? he did no longer. the closest he have been given to triumphing a championship became into the 300 and sixty 5 days they lost to lakers interior the western convention finals in interest 7.
