I still feed my 4 week olds at least 3 times a day. You do have a couple of options though. You certainly could put a block feeder in there with him. There are also battery operated feeders that will release food 2 times a day. You can set the amount of food that comes out (Although for him it would be a VERY LITTLE food). You pre-load the food before you go. The last option you would have is to have someone come in an feed him. But back to the beginning, I guess if you don't have much of a choice, you'll have to go with the block feeder. Put it in a day early and make sure you see that he's eating it. This way, if you see him eating at it, you won't worry so much while you're gone.

Good luck!!! ;o)

(Have a nice trip!)

Don't use the feeder block, and don't worry about fish going without food for a week or more. The feeder blocks will just pollute the water. Stop feeding two or three days before you leave, then do a nice 20 or 25% water change, just before leaving. The fish will be just fine when you return, and the water will be shiny clean.Fish can go for much longer than a week or two without food and there will be no ill effects.

Yeah, you should stay removed from those blocks and automated feeders. The blocks cloud the water, and the feeders get jammed a great form of situations (and so clouds the water, too). healthful fish can bypass without nutrients for no less than 2 weeks. in basic terms feed them precise formerly you bypass away (the comparable volume you commonly do), and that they are going to be high-quality. =]

first 10 days is the deadliest for fry. i think after 2 weeks they arent comsidered fry any longer. the biggest problem is the more aggresive fish like gouramis and cichlids tend to irritate and eat other smaller fish.

keep the temperature cool, provide lots of food, and shelters such as floating plants and the fry will be ok!

good luck
