I guess if I thought that I could see how you are able to totally ignore that the rest of the world is not that friendly to us or each other. I could even ignore the fact that my own personal needs and desires are not necessarily those that would make good law or help our future as a country. Perhaps if I believed that I could really believe the social engineering put forward by the Democrats as progressive change. Perhaps I could believe that if I only concern myself with my daily routine and allow the government control of my health and welfare the world would be perfect and all would hold hands singing songs of peace and love.

Perhaps you should take a political science course, who are you referring to as a conservative? If you check out text book definitions, the Taliban qualify for the criteria covered by the term "Conservative". We Republicans qualify for the term "Classic Liberals". Democrats qualify for the term "Neo-Marxists".
If you re implying that we Republicans are not well traveled, I would suggest to you that it is common for us to serve in the military and the military travels a lot. Also take into account that it takes less time now to travel from Washington D.C. to Baghdad than it did to travel to Richmond, Virginia in 1860.
I see you think a lot of yourself too.
