What do you mean by non American? The USA has never had an American as president as every body in the country comes from another part of the world originally. The States are a very young country and the only real Americans are the native Indians. So really I think the answer to your question is no, as in any relatively new country, unfortunately the indigenous people end up becoming the minority under dog.

it incredibly is obtainable for an American President to not be a commonly happening church-goer, however there are situations whilst his responsibilities would require him to attend. have you ever seen a information products with regard to the President consulting with the Church formerly enacting a particular coverage or making a political speech? it isn't the commonly happening way and your declare that the Church steers American rules isn't actual. As for little ones pledging allegiance on a on a daily basis foundation in school, the clarification is that the education government have faith (mistakenly) that it incredibly is solid for the youngster's education and could help him/her to be greater patriotic. Such concept comes from a scarcity of self assurance that something of their teachings will provide the youngster sufficient ability to realize order that he/she would be ready to be sufficiently grateful as to not rebellion against the motherland. I intentionally did not write "place of beginning" right here because of the fact it would recommend that the youngster's upbringing would then be on a advantages and punishment foundation; while with a "motherland" the youngster is enjoyed and tolerated unconditionally and subsequently gets overlooked whilst he/she starts to oppose the gadget, with disastrous consequences. (probably this "place of beginning" approach is the chinese language or North Korean strict way of having obedience!)

William B you are full of it. You can't even read properly. Are you sure you understand English ?

Of course there is such a thing as dual citizenship.

And Americans born abroad can not be president if their parents were not in the Army or working for the U.S. embassy.

Gabrielle is CORRECT on all counts.

The Constitution clearly states that to become president you must be born an American. If your parents are on official US governmnent duty outside the country, when you are born. You are considered an American by birth. Examples are people who work in Embassies and those who are stationed overseas while in the US Military, Peace Corps, Merchant Marine, and Coast Guard to name a few.

Gabreila is wrong on all accounts, she said
"A fact, even those U.S. citizens born of parents who are not only U.S. citizens but also direct descendants of citizens since 1776 and of inhabitants of the American continent since the landing of the Mayflower, are not eligible to run for president of the U.S. if they were born abroad and did not live for 5 consecutive years in the U.S. before they were 16. If for some reason their parents' work made this impossible, they are automatically excluded from the right to run for president." THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE, SEE MY ANSWER ABOVE.

She also added:
"I have a question. Many Jews born in the U.S. have automatic dual citizenship with Israel (they owe allegiance to both countries). By the fact of their birth on U.S. soil they can become president of the country. Is their allegiance to Israel (or any other country for that matter*) an impediment to becoming president?" THIS IS A TOTAL FALSEHOOD. I am Jewish and an American by birth. I fought in the Viet Nam war in an American Air Force Uniform. I hold only one passport. The passport from the country I was born in. An American passport. I have never been to Israel and do not plan on going to Israel. I am an American not an Israeli. America does not allow for dual citizenship. Other countries do. According to American law you can only swear allegience to one country, America. If you swear allegience to another country you are automatically not an American anymore.

At the present time, a person must be a naturalized citizen or a born citizen of the United States to become president. Who knows if there will come a time when a non-American will become President of the United States? Osama Bin Laden could become President for all I know!

Only if we are invaded and taken over by a foreign power or we change the constitution. Of the two it would be more likely we were invaded. No , no one born outside the U.S. will ever be president.
