hi there,

i took a pregnancy test yesterday .. there were 2 "fields", one "control - field" (there must be a blue line to assure the test worked correctly) and the other one shows a blue line if ure pregnant.

anyway, until about 1 hour after peeing on it there was NO LINE IN EITHER field (it says the result of the first 10minutes counts, afterwards its invalid",but then after an hour i suddenly had a pale line in the control-field and a normal line in the pregnancy-field.
what does this now mean? is the test invalid, as after 10 minutes there was NOTHING (and it says"dispose after 10min), not even in the control - field, or was the test just slow?i mean, the pregnancy-line cant come from nothing, can it?
please help! thanks

disregard any line that developes after 10 minutes as it is more than likely to be from the urine evaporating from the test - that leaves a mark

retest but it might be worth calling the makers and explaining as they may send you compensation for the wasted test.

halu! you've waited too long for the test result, for sure the test you've done was invalid. Please do your pregnancy test thru Serum ( quantitative test) which measures the exact level of HCG ( Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). HCG is a hormone that is produced by the placenta. It appears in the blood and urine within 10 days of fertilization of the egg by the sperm (conception). After the embryo implants to the inside of the uterus (womb), the level of the HCG rise rapidly. The quantitative test not only determine if you are pregnant but also help give a rough estimate of the duration of pregnancy. It can also help determine if the pregnancy is progressing normally. You can also ask an Ob-gyne regarding this matter. Good luck! God bless.

It sounded like a deffective test. The lines you were seeing are actually evaporation lines. After the recommended testing time limit, you shouldn't rely on any results because they get evaporation lines, which are the lines you are seeing that showed up on the test. You should def take another test to find out for sure, good luck!

I would try it again, although the test should be voided it sounds like there wasn't enough urine on it to make a reading.
Pregnancy test are so much money, you don't want waste it.
When i did pregnancy tests i would pee into a cup and stand the test into the urine for about 30 secs.
If you are still not sure or it doesn't work buy a new one.
Good luck x

If a line doesn't come up in the control panel then the test hasn't worked. You should try another test and if that does the same go to the doctors.

get another one and test again with first morning wee in a couple of days when the HCG level will have gone up. You may be very very very early in pregnancy and therefore incredibly low HCG level.
If you didn't use your first morning wee this could result in a lower HCG level also
I wouldn't trust it as the wee on the stick could've just seeped through and caused the late reaction.

Or save the time and money and get a blood test from the doctors...

best of luck

My wife recently took a pregnancy test and i remember the instructions saying that after about an hour the results would show positive regardless of the outcome, i believe it was a `clear blue` one too.

After the time limit given to you in the directions, THROW THE TEST AWAY. And do not dig it out to look again. It was after the limit and tests do show lines - called evaporation lines - after they're no longer *valid*. Best of luck to you!

Honestly I would try another one because it is not valid like you said after 10 mins but I had one like that before and a light line showed up after like 30 mins I went and got another one and then it did like it was suppose to and turned out I was pregnant.
