my ethernet card is not working (onboard), to repair servicing people told me that they have to replace entire motherboard which costs a fortune, i do have wireless service on my machine & router too. problem is without network card i cannot configure wireless router. Could you please anyone suggest me to solve my problem.

Ok here is what you do. Are you sure the onboard ethernet died. I never seen that happen before. I seen it where it says its connected but with limited connectivity. Try uninstalling the drivers for the ethernet device and reinstall them first. And if its Really dead. Go into BIOS and Disable the Onboard Ethernet. Then go buy a Wireless G or Wireless N card Depending on what the router says it supports. Install New ethernet card into pci slot. Install Drivers and you should be connected just fine.

Borrow a laptop or computer from someone to configure your router with.
Or replace the motherboard yourself.
