Standard ceiling height in the Us is right at 8 foot or 2.43 meters. Although some newer construction is moving the ceiling height to 10 foot to accommodate the use of higher end lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. Then on the other end of the spectrum some new, more energy efficient homes, are going with a low a ceiling as possible to reduce on heating and cooling cost and help conserve energy.
