Im 7 weeks in a couple days..
Im thinking about body changes, I have 10DD breasts. way too big as it is..
Im worried about sagging.. as we do..
Question, If I breast feed does that make them sag more than if I dont breast feed?
Being my first child will it not sag much either way??

my breasts were a 'c' to start with then by 8wks were a 'dd' then at birth after milk came in went to an 'f'. I made the BIG mistake of wearing ill fitting maternity bras way way too early. Its an old wives tale that you should wear them during pregnancy. It will not make your milk supply bad or anyother old wives tale. Wear normal underwire, super supportive bras during pregnancy and then swap to maternity after baby is born. Only get fitted for them 1-2 wks before you are due so you get the right size and don't scrimp on money!!
I also put on a lot of weight (like 25kg's) with the first and since having my 2 kids have lost 30kg so my breasts have taken a hammering! If you keep wearing great fitting bras, keep your weight at a good level (10-14kg is average and recommended) by eating well and exercising and do breastfeed, they may not sag as much as you think.
At the end of the day, even though my boobs sag a bit, I wouldn't trade perky boobs for not breastfeeding. I wish I had known all this when i fell preggers. I learnt my lesson and did so much differently the 2nd time.
the damage is usually done in pregnancy through weight gain and loss more so than if you breastfeed.
congratulations and best of luck

It's actually pregnancy that will cause breasts to change, not breastfeeding. In all reality, breastfeeding could help your breasts return to your pre-pregnancy state after you've weaned vs. not breastfeeding.
"Breast involution is a process where the milk-making system inside the breast shrinks because it's not needed anymore. This happens either after weaning, or right after pregnancy if you don't breastfeed at all, or during menopause. When the tissues inside breast shrink, and the skin surrounding it doesn't, the breast can look 'empty' and saggy. Over time, some fat gets deposited back to the breast so it will look somewhat fuller but sagging usually remains"
from this site: http://www.007b.com/sagging.php
"Here's what you may hear: "Breastfeeding makes your breasts sag." Unfortunately, breasts sag all by themselves as you age. Whether you breastfeed or not makes no difference — even women who never get pregnant must eventually face the reality of sagging."
http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesA...
"Breastfeeding often gets blamed for the sagging of breasts. Actually, it is pregnancy and not nursing that affects the shape and size of your breasts. Breastfeeding and gradual weaning make it more likely that fat will be redeposited in your breasts, helping them to regain more of their pre-pregnancy appearance (Minchin, 1989)."

The hormones of pregnancy is what makes your breasts sag- not breastfeeding. I have breastfed one before this- and our 13 month old now is breastfeeding, and they are the same as they were after my first pregnancy. I did notice after pregnancy they were not the same. Though, they were a bit smaller after I weaned our son.

ok 1st off i breast feed and i was a 32b before i got pregnant im not a 34d and i demand feed aswell feels like i constantly have a baby stuck to my boobs but mine dont sag at all they just look normal the only difference is my nipples are abit bigger but they got like that while i was pregnant not because of breasfeeding....and secondly im not having a go but if you want to breastfeed then do it dont worry about weather you think your breasts are gonna sag or not think about whats best for your baby, plus breastfeeding has loadsa benifits for you such as.....reduces the risk of pre-menopausal cancer, helps your womb return to its normal size quicker and becaus it uses up calories it will help you return to your normal weight , its easier in the night when feeding because you dont have to get out of bed you can just feed the baby and put them back in their moses basket and the list of benefits for your baby is endless so i wouldnt worry about sagging push past that coz its not true at all....goodluck and congrats on baby x

I don't know if breastfeeding will make them sag more, but unfortunately they will most likely sag either way. Good luck with your pregnancy!

pregnancy itself changes your breasts....whether or not you breastfeed your breasts prepared themselves to produce milk....therefore the milk producing glands and such were hard at work, expand and produce milk for while whether or they continue to do so
i am currently breastfeeding my second child......after my first weaned at over 2 years of age my breasts didn't sag....but certianly did not look the same......not perky anymore and softer instead of lifted, round and firm
but i am proud of my breasts....i am amazed by them and how they provide nourishment for my babies....how cool is that?
your body in general will not look the same after having a baby....but that is okay......that is the choice we make as women
don't worry about it

I was a 34DD when I got PG. Now I'm a 34G and haven't had any problems with sagging any more than you already will just being heavy chested. I breastfed for 4.5 months.

I think breast feeding is better than not breastfeeding, both for the mother' s body and for the baby, anyway. Would you jeopardise your health with mastitis etc., and your kid's future health

It won't make them sag exactly, but it will shrink them.
