You may google almost anything. The reason our poly-sci teachers are asking you to do a paper on political reform is because the Left or Democratic Party does NOT stand for what it once did and the members are not singing the same tune. The same is true, although not as significant on the GOP.

For a small scale example check out the NJ example here.

As more Dems move further left with the support of the media, the party is at risk. More people are declaring themselves as Independant and the majority of the states are RED vs. Blue. Although the delagates are evenly divided based on population.

There is also a lot of apathy in the democratic party, which is why the GOP has won so many elections, even though there are reportedly a significant number of more registered democrats than republicans.

None. George Washington warned about the problems with political parties. Soon it will be one large party. We need a political structure where any man or woman can run for office without needing millions of dollars from lobbyists.

Change of governmental policies.

For example, the new Democratic Congress enacted earmark reform... making it where earmarks must be disclosed to the public and have the designated congressional member's name attached to it.

There are other types:
Lobbying reform
Term reform
Campaign Finance Reform
etc...

None.
When we stop supporting and voting for political bigots, we'll get a better government.

If they call any of our representatives names, spread unfounded rumors about them, treat them as "guilty until proved innocent", or act seditiously or in a way directly contradicting the basics of our Founding Fathers (like socialism), then they have lost my vote.

If they don't speak up against such behaviors, particularly in their own party, they have lost my vote.

Ethics, folks. Our representatives do just that.

They are representatives of how we, ourselves, act.

Is that you?
