You could be pregnant if you were fertile. A woman with a 28 day cycle will be fertile around day 14 although this can vary hugely. If you're concerned, you have around 48 hours to get a morning after pill. Be warned - they can make you a bit nauseous, but better that than an unwanted baby!

if you are sure you are getting your period soon then i would not panic. On average women will ovulate (release an egg) 14 days BEFORE their next period. The egg will only survive for around 24 hours.
As for the morning after pill, its anything up to 72 hrs later and im definate on that as i took it myself a year ago. But it works best if taken within 12 hrs, the longer you wait, the less chance of it working.

If you have had unprotected sexual intercourse in the last couple of days, emergency contraception can help to prevent pregnancy, provided that you take the emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) after intercourse. Call the toll free help line at 1-800-600-6586 for more information.

I got this off of the internet and saved it to a question i answered a long time ago therefore i do not recall the website's name or link.

I believe you have up to 72 hours (could be 48) to take that pill. If your aunt flo is supposed to be visting soon (your period ) then you should have already ovulated a week ago but you could still take the pill anyways. You can go in Monday and get it that would be good. be careful if you aren't ready for a baby...trust me on this one.

About 36 hours, no more, for the morning after pill. But if you get your period, you have nothing to worry about! Just learn from this first mistake to make sure you don't make a bigger mistake in the future and ALWAYS USE PROTECTION! I'd say also go and get tested of STDs. You never know!

The morning after pill needs to be taken withing 72 hours of the unprotected sex.

The sooner you take it, the more likely that it will be effective.

72 hours, but quicker is better. Don't have unprotected sex again, even if it's close to your period. It's not worth it.

You have 72 hours to take emergency contraception, but it's effectiveness drops each day, so get it now. You won't have symptoms this early though.
