For the first couple of years a period is very irregular. And there is no way to predict when you are going to get it. You might get it tomoorow, or not for another 2 months. Just give it time. It takes time for a girl's body to adjust to all of the new horomones.
After you become regular, you will get in every 28 days (more or less, once again it depends on your body. Some women have cycles that are 21 days and others have cycles that are 35 days.) If you had been regular, with a 28 day cycle, you would have had your period around Sept. 23rd.

You are supposed to get your period every 28 days, but it's rare that a woman will actually get that. 28 days is four weeks so about a month, hence why you thought you would get it the next time the 25th rolls around. But months have different number of days so it's not perfect.
In addition, most women aren't perfectly regular, so they don't get their periods on exactly the same day every month. Irregularity is very common in people first starting their periods and it can take a few years to settle down! If you miss one, it's not a big deal, or if it comes after 3 weeks or 5 weeks it's not important. It's possible your period will be absent for a few months, because some people get their first period and then have a big gap, but that does not happen to everybody and your friend was wrong.
I would say don't stress. You will most likely get a period every few weeks. You can see a doctor if it's more than 6 months without one.
Hope that helped.

Different women have different cycles, not all women get theirs every month. Some women skip months, some women don't. How long it last and how long it takes to come back varies with every women.Don't worry. The thing is that since you just started it can take a few months or maybe even up to a year for it to become regular. But you should still be getting it just at different times each month. After a few months of getting it, you can try counting the days until it comes again each month so you can find out how long your personal cycle is. That just means that you will be able to tell exactly when your going to get it by counting when it ends one month and starts the next month. But that can take some time. So just wait and then you will be able to see what your personal cycle will be.

It is normal for you to get irregular periods during your very first year. Occasionally, it can take up to 2 years before your periods are completely regular. During the first year or two, it will be hard to predict when your period will come exactly. Every woman's cycle is different; this is usually said to be a 28-day cycle (meaning your period comes every 28 days), but again, it can vary from 25-35 days.
