According to the Vedanta of Sankaracharya (Pasupathinath temple in your country is made by him) the knowledge of self is the highest and final knowledge. You are indeed that ultimate realty (Tat Tvam Asi) and you do not know that due to ignorance (Avidya). When the illusuion of this ignorace is removed, you will realise that all had been only illlusory (Maya) and the you will know who you are, the knowledge that 'That Thou Art' (Tat Tvam Asi). From then on you shall continuously meditate upon 'I am That Ultimare reality' and in Sanskrit, "Aham Bhramasmi"
