No.
Switzerland is not cheap, it is even considered expensive by most Europeans.
You can travel there for a moderate amount of money, but you have to be really careful and it will not be easy.

I think you do understand the exchange-rate wrong.
It is not the actual numbers that count, it is the numbers compared to what you can buy for the money.
At one time the Netherlands had the Guilder, in Belgium they used the Belgium Frank, they had an exchange-rate of 1 against 20, but the factual prices were the same. If you took your guilders to the bank to get franks and took those to the store in Belgium you could buy the same as guilders would buy you in the Netherlands. And the other way round.

So if you go to Switzerland you seem to get more money in the exchange, but all prices are higher too, so that the actual price will still be higher than what you would pay in the USA.

You got the exchange rate wrong.

1 USD = 1.17720 CHF
1 CHF = 0.849473 USD

This means that one Swiss Franc is worth about 85 cents USD.

At the current exchange rate you'll need to bring approx. 80 USD per day and person if you want to travel to Switzerland - and that is staying in hostels and buying your food in supermarkets. (This is very expensive as you can travel for a whole week on this amount of money in India.)

And yes, Geneve is expensive too. You might reduce the amount of money you need per day and person by staying in only one place (thus no cost of transport within Switzerland), going in summer and taking a tent, saving a maximum amount of money on food by going hungry once in a while - but then it won't be worth to shell out the cash for the flight ticket.

check out the main inexpensive flights to Europe eg France,Germany,Italy in case you do no longer want an instant one to Zürich or Geneva and then a railway conncetion to Switzerland. yet wager an instant flight with a shape airline could be the final deal.

Since the US Dollar lost so much in value against the Euro, NOTHING is cheap in Switzerland.....or in Europe for that matter.
