You're trying to educate someone to be more respectful towards others, otherwise if they don't and keep on being a jerk they won't have many friends left in the end, but this person you're telling just ignores you and gives you abuse back?

I can imagine your frustration. Some people just can't seem to see how their behaviour affects others. They're lucky to have you care for them. Just keep on trying and one day your words might sink in and they'll be grateful for it I'm sure.
