Well it's morning now (9:30 am or so) but the sleep fight started last night at 9pm when he started drifting to sleep laying on his play mat. Changed his bum and fed him his bottle, sang his songs and did our usual routine. Layed him down and he was wide awake, would not go to sleep. Half an hour later he was still awake even though you could see he was tired but he wasn't having anything to do with sleep.
Turns out that in my trying to make sure he was comfortable I goofed. It was really warm here last night so I left him in his onesie and socks instead of putting a full blown sleeper on him, thinking he would be more comfortable. At 10:30 I put his sleeper on him and he was out 5 minutes later.
It's amazing how routine can be so ingrained in one so small (he's 9 weeks old!!). He slept all the way till 3:30am, even slept through the horrendous thunderstorm we had at 1am. Then he slept till 6am after his feeding and then he dozed in his crib and played off and on till 8:30am this morning.
As per usual, an hour later he is sound asleep in his swing and likely will be for an hour or so.Then routine goes to hell for the rest of the day till bedtime LOL.

My darling nine month old daughter has finally wore down after crawling around her crib duelling with the sandman. The duel begins every night at 8:30 pm punctuated by shrieks as pacifiers and toys are flung out of the crib. Finally, it is now 2:13 and my daughter is fast asleep in a yoga-esque position and the house is QIUET... aaah.. But I am still awake because my "unborn" little one (I am 5 mths. along) is now taking nightly aerobatics and kickboxing lessons. I wish I knew how to put both children to sleep at the same time, this does not bode well for the near future....

Aww I like to picture a man taking care of his children. How uncommon, but nice. You must be a good daddy.
I am not up with my babies they are 4 and 5 now. I find comfort in knowing that I am over the infant stage. I was so dang tired for 2 1/2 years straight..
Now they go to bed at the same time every night.. :o)

Hey I have an 8 year old boy it is 9:30pm here and he has school tomorrow and he has all sorts of excuses not to go to sleep right now he is crying cause it is apparently TOO hot. It's not that hot here he is driving me nuts right now he's not going to get up for school in the morning.
I just keep putting him back to bed everytime he comes out without saying anything he'll get the message thats what supernanny does and it works for her on her T.V show.
Good luck with your little one and getting her to sleep.
