Hello Anchor Cranker,
We can certainly live in hope.
However, France will be no pushover. They will have home advantage for a start and that could be good for a couple of points for them.
The France v England game will be played in a different way to the England, Aussie match and we will certainly have our work cut out to beat the French. (As we did for the Aussies' of course)
Lets hope none of our boys are superstitious as they are playing on the 13th and perhaps the games venue will be changed from Saint-Denis to Saint-Johnny after the match.
I would prefer to play France than NZ because I feel they are more beatable, even though the French have a home advantage. We did it against Australia four years ago. (Was it really four years ago when Wilkinson scored that wonderful drop goal right at the end of extra-time? I can still see it like it was yesterday.
I hope the media keep saying that England are no hoper's as they did for their last game. This seems to spur our rugby team on.
Lets not forget the brave Scots. I know I may be living in a dream world, but could it be an England v Scotland Final? Come on you Scots!!
Perhaps the French will be happy to play in 'le bleu et blanc' instead of all blue after successfully seeing off NZ, rather than crying about having to wear all white and not all blue because their colours clashed.
Poseidon
PS Lets not forget that Johnny W is now the highest points scorer in Rugby World Cup history. Many, Many congratulations Johnny.

Well let's hope so, we have a way to go still, and France are obviously no pushover going on last night. I am rooting for England all the way, and do hope that Johnny does the business.
Stickydo, All Blacks got knocked out by the French, at least that was what i was watching......
..
I think i have missed something here, are NZ still in with a shout?

As long as his luck holds out on the injury front - yes, an excellent chance. We're in Montpellier, South of France - the place went wild last night. But lets not count our chickens, eh ?

Naah, I am sad to say it was like watching the Argies or the Italians. I still think Oz and NZ were better sides beaten on the day. I'm English, incidentally.
