You should delete myspace because:
You go online on it too much.
You're grades may suffer.
When you stop visiting it each night you will find you have sooooooooooooo much more time to yourself. More time to chat on the phone to your mates and arrange things.
You will finish your homework earlier than twelve and like get more sleep !!!! Because teenagers really really need more rest.
Umm... you won't get unhappy if you see a social event online which you weren't invited to.
Umm... you won't be so preoccupied with other people's business. You will feel happier in yourself because you are not comparing everything on your page with other ppls.
If some guy or girl ignores a comment you really need an answer to you won't feel upset.
You will feel empowered to know you no longer need to be on it 24/7.
I am currently doing exactly the same as you as I'm premenstrual and these guys who commented my page and then did not respond to my comment back really upset me !! Lol. So now I'm going cold turkey on Instant Messenger and myspace for three days.
I'm allowing myself to check my emails once a day though because sometimes I have important emails and things from the council which I NEED to respond to.
Sorry my reasons above sounded so harsh, I'm not saying you do all those obsessive things ! But I do when I'm on myspace, hehe.
And the last reason I just thought is .....
.......... if you feel the need to post a question like this on Yahoo Answers then you probably already know and feel that myspace is interfering tooooo much !
Good luck ! I hope we both stick at this X

How About a comprimise? Since you are a A student...And you know your responsibilities What if you tell your mom or a really, really good friend to make you a code for myspace so that you still have it and limit your time on their until you work a routine out that will get all of your school work done and the extra studying...and when you do check your myspace have the person you entrust to sign you on when it's that time...If that doesn't work then delete it...I will tell you this tho I and everyone in my generation that applied themselves made it through High School without myspace...Might want to give that some thought...Good Luck I wish you the best...

Oh, do I know what that's like! lol. Well, to be honest, the issue isn't myspace, it's self-discipline. You have to force yourself to prioritize. I love myspace, but it is pretty effing pointless. But, I don't know if its necessary to delete your page entirely. Of course, you can always make a new profile if you do decide to. And honestly, if you can't learn to prioritize, you should delete it. But, first of all, lets work on your priorities. Seriously, how bad could you possibly NEED to check your myspace? Everything that's on there will still be on there later when you are DONE with your homework. It will. I promise. And I know how hard it is to force yourself to sit down and do homework right when you get home from school. So, what you should do is just sit down in front of the TV instead and watch for ONLY a half hour - no longer, period! Then force yourself to do homework or study. At least for an hour or two. Then maybe check your email and check for messages on myspace before dinner. After dinner, DO MORE STUDYING. And only after its all done do you get back online. That's all it takes. Tell your parents about it too and have them help you stay on track. I know its hard to do, myspace can be addicting. But, seriously, what could you possibly be doing for THAT long on myspace? Good luck. If your newly prioritized schedule doesn't work, the just delete myspace. Myspace is most definitely not worth getting even one letter grade lower in a class, or on a test. And, like I said before, you can always make a new profile if you delete your old one. And Who knows? That might actually be even more fun!

Hi Hello,
The big challenge you have is staying focused. But it's evidently not such a big problem that your grades are suffering -yet. That's the good news. It is necessary to understand that you need regular breaks from homework, but spending too much time with anything may distract your from achieving your biggest goals.
The computer can draw you off and keep you so occupied at this moment that you just don't notice the time pass. A timer can help you with this. Just set it for 5 minutes between subjects, then force yourself to close the program, and remember that the program will still be there when you can afford to devote more time to it.
An excellent book that helped me with just the same kinds of problems was "Becoming A Master Student." It has some amazing study recommendations, and "Power Processes" that help with the things that want to pull us away from our dreams. You will find it cheaply on line because it's been out for a long time, or new in college bookstores. It's worth a million bucks!
Oh, yeah: delete that darn myspace! There are predators on it looking for ways to get you to agree to things you never should. I was staying with someone when a friend of theirs began using myspace to find young women (he was 19) to sleep with. He usually found three every night. He would find one, go sleep with her, come back to the computer and find another one, go sleep with her, etc. I was horrified. That is the behaviour of a predator, but many young women are agreeing to this, why is beyond me. I'm sure the women did not know he was meeting with so many women. He just knew how to exploit them for his own purposes. I'm sure you don't allow this, but it is possible. Be safe, keep your dreams alive.

What you should do, is give your password to someone u trust and tell them to change it and not give it back until holidays/ or until completion of school.
That way you can't go on myspace and waste time. =P

Yeah, I had the same addiction to online poker. You just gotta get rid of the site, and probably the computer too - don't log on, don't do anything online.... good luck!!

Why delete it? Just stop checking it. :-/
If you want a reason, then you're reason would be school.
No one can really persuade you to do anything.
