Does anyone know what i can do? I am concerned because the lady NEVER told me or anyone else about it and i think i had a right to know not to mention the fact None of her neighbors know either. im just concerned something happened im making a dr appt monday. Legally does anyone have any advice?? Anyone been through something like this before??

Find out what the crime was. Might have been stat rape. She might have been a flasher, or might be a pedophile with a predilection for boys. If she is on probation, find out if she violated that by baby sitting. You also might just talk to her.

In no event let her sit again. Find out what she did, it could ease you mind.

AS a person who was molested, ( I was nine years old) are you sure that she's not on the list for something stupid??? I know some who's on the list for NYS because of some pictures she took of her daughter in the tub with some of the girls bath toys. Pictures that our parents wouldn't have thought twice of taking. But now it's considered child pornography. She almost lost her job and it took her about 5 years of suing NYS to get her name off of the list, So before you freak out find out what's she on the list for. IF she's done something really bad don't' hire her again. And if any thing really serious happened you would probably be able to tell. There are VERY few women who molest children of that age. IF she has done something it's probably something like having sex with a underage teen ager. When women are sexual criminals that's usually what they get arrested for. Seriously when was the last time that you have heard of a woman sexually hurting a very young child??? I'm not saying that having sex with a fifteen year old boy is OK what I'm telling you is that you probably don't have to worry about your child.Especially since she's a girl, Find out what the issues is and than maybe it's time to find a babysitter that you've done research before you let someone stay with your child.

Sex offender registries are not very fair. She should have told you if her sex offense had something to do with children but if she's not a child molester or serial rapist I don't think it's that bad.

Many sex offenders have to be on the registry and are denied jobs for things like "I had consensual sex with a girl when we were both drunk and she cried rape" (which to me shouldn't count)

I mean, you can legally get her put in jail since she is required to tell people and didn't. But before you ruin her life even more you should find out what exactly she did.

You didn't tell us her charge, non sexual things can get you on the sex offenders list, love can too. don't let her babysit no more,if she did nothing wrong, there is nothing else to do.

added. OK,rape can be as simple as she was caught at 18 having sex with a 16 year old male with consent. I'm in no way defending sexual predators or child rapists, but the sexual predator list is too broad. a person peeing on the side of the side of the road can be placed on the list,an 18year old with a 16 year old boyfriend or girlfriend can be on the list. I wish you luck and hope nothing happened to your child, but don't get in a panic. I have seen panic in such cases ruin a persons life, without cause

ok I believe that it's true in all states that registered sex offenders not only have to tell their neighbors but also inform and place of employment!!! look up the laws for your state!! if she didn't inform you i would contact police.
