After you log in,click to go to your home page. Once that page opens, on the left side, in the blue box with your picture, it will say things like Edit Profile, Edit Settings, etc. Click on the first one (Edit Profile), and a new page opens with BIG white boxes to the right . The top one is the About Me section. If a code is there, right click on it--choose Select All to highlight it, then choose Delete. It will then be a clean, white box to put your new background code in. After you have your new code in place, go to the top of the box where there are 2 gray buttons. DOUBLE Click to "Save all changes"; a new page opens up with a security code of 6 letters you have to type AS IS (use caps if shown, lower case if shown). Double click to Save Changes, and if it works it will open up again and say something like "your changes have been saved" in red. Then click the gray button at the top that says "Preview Profile" twice. It may take a couple minutes to change and you may have to go clear back to the url page (www.myspace.com/yourusername) to see the full effect.

Click on the edit profile section on your myspace homepage..their will be a section their that is titled 'about me'..I don't know if you know this or not, but a lot of times the 'about me' section is where you need to paste your codes for your layouts, backgrounds, online icons, etc. for them to work..their is plenty of space for this, so don't worry about not having enough to write about yourself if you want..I use little asteriks with a letter for what the codes are for like this *l.o. for which code is for my layout for example..that way I don't forget which is which and it doesn't really stand out when you view your profile..good luck with this..I hope I didn't confuse you further..take care and PEACE to you and yours today and everyday....;0)
