it just annoys me...i cant stand it at times and alot of people that answer my questions include sources..
especially when people say sources:"my intelligent mind" or "my clever brain"..cant i tell that??

Well, this site was supposed to be something with sometimes very serious answers, and a source to an answer is what this mechnical world sometimes requires. I just noticed recently that most non-fiction books have like 16 pages of sources. Odd, because I wonder what makes those "sources" the authority on a matter.

Actually I like that-especially when there is a link I can use to check for myself where their information came from. If they use themselves as the reference it could be from personal or professional experience-such as a Doctor or Nurse for a medical question-or a teacher for a question on child education. Persons suffering from depression are often answered by persons who have likewise suffered. A reference can distinguish an answer as being more credible and more likely to be accurate from the others.

Sometimes you're looking for some information that the sources could help to locate.
Nothing wrong with it, you should be grateful that people have done a research for you, spending a minute or two in Google or Ask.com.

I only do it when I put in a direct quote from someone else so that I'm not plagiarizing what that other person wrote.
