Good point. It's the womans body, and we can't tell her what to do with it. But we can tell a man that his body is going to be working a certain number of hours each week for 18 years supporting the woman's decision.
In both cases, the situation can be avoided if both just have sex with someone they love and are committed to for life.

There is one thing that is never mentioned and that is the fact that women can die giving birth. Now granted, with all of the medical intervention that happens with childbirth in this country today, it does not happen often, but it does happen. That is the reason why men do not have more rights. If they don't want the possibility that an abortion could occur from their actions, then they either need to use protection or keep it in their pants. It takes two to make a baby.

It's changing, don't you worry.
Just like the old custody thing... where Mom got custody automatically unless she was, like, a crack dealer... and even then she still might.
Look at Britney!
There's a wakeup call.
I'm a single dad. Gender can no longer be used in custody determination, it's a civil rights violation. It's discrimination based on gender!
Wait for ONE case to be tried and make it to the Supreme Court. ONE case and there will be laws on the books about this.
By the way... I refer to a woman no longer being able to have an abortion when the father is known and willing to take the child after birth. As for why you have to pay child support?
Child support is NOT the parent's money. It's the child's.
I cannot waive child support from my ex (not like she's here and paying any... but still... if she were...) because it's not my money, it's my son's. You are paying your kid's way.
Any parent who WOULDN'T want to do that is pretty sad.

Excellent point or what about the flip side of this, Why can't a man prevent the woman from having an abortion if he is willing to take responsibility for the raising and welfare of the child. Isn't the child just as much his as it is hers?

Because a woman has to bare a child. If a man had to bare a child, then things would be different. It's a woman's choice if she wants to have an abortion or not. Also, if they baby is already born both parents should WANT to take responsibility for their child. Why would any man or woman want to bail out on their living child.

As a man, you do have the right not to have sex in the first place. If you have decided to go through with it, then it is your choice and your responsibility. I assume nobody can 'steal" your sperms unless you let them. Men do have rights, it's just how you look at it.

It's not about her getting out of paying... it is about the female having a right to what happens to her body. I mean really...... she is the one pregnant after all.

That will happen just as soon as men get pregnant, so don't get your panties in a twist.

Women fought to change it and some men(through seeking election or thinking with the wrong head) helped them to do it. I bet most that sought the change had little understanding of the original laws or completely ignored them.
