um....my teacher told me metacrawler is a good one because it finds all the things. For example, google may have a link that yahoo might not have. But metcrawler gets all the links.

I almost exclusively use Google and wikipedia for general information, and find I can get almost everything. I'll occasionally (usually when I finally stop being stubborn and get too frustrated with google) use Yahoo and Ask.

For more academic stuff, particularly biology, Google scholar and pubmed.
