Political Correctness is no less than Cultural Marxism.
By creating an oppressive atmosphere wherein anyone who disagrees with the crowd is stifled and deemed a 'heretic' (like anyone who stands up to the Global Warming religion) they have ensured that people will mostly be sheep following the flock and never making waves.
After all, they've convinced people they have the right never to be offended.
In reality, the exact opposite is true. You have the right to BE offended... and you have the right to offend someone.
The PC mentality, fostered by the ACLU and other Libertarians, is contributing to the destruction of the American culture and the weakening of the American resolve.
Anyone offended? Guess what? I don't care.
Constitution gives me the right to offend you.
Live with it.

Right on, I think that is a good definition for Political Correctness. It attacks our founding traditions of the middle class or as liberals call it bourgeois. If accepted by the community at large they will be free to pass laws that penalize people who are of mainly the middle class or republicans who they fear.
Control seems to be P.C.'s middle name. You say, you think, what they consider P.C. and this varies with race and political leaning. I say to H E double hockey sticks to em.

Depending on which area you are speaking about. PC could mean personal computer (in my line of work and my logo it does), but in others it means more.
EDIT: Bryan the constitution gives you the right to BE offensive with free speech but it does NOT give you the right to offend me. I have the same right as you:
"...in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and..."
Get over it.

You are quite correct.
The masses can no longer be so easily controlled through religion or outright physical force so this kind of social leash is the obvious solution.
How can you be heard when your not allowed to speak?
