Yes. I habitually turn my headlights on every time I start my engine.

My 1978 motorcycle has headlight on except for starting relays/switchs. A 2001 GM van has automatic headlight switch- outside light gets below a set level and lights come on- dusk to dawn, fog or rainy weather the headlights will turn on automaticly so I tend to drive lights on in morning. Friend's 2008(?) GM has headlights on like the motorcycle- if engine is running the charge relay has headlights or running light in headlight cover on- there is no 'off' switch setting. .

In Minnesota, it is the law that you have to drive with your headlights on if it is raining even a little sprinkle, snowing, or other precipitation, or the clouds are dark enough that it could be raining, or if it's foggy. Also, we have to drive with them on if it's 45 minutes before sunset and later, or 45minutes after sunrise or earlier.
It isn't so much about being able to see as being seen by other drivers.
Daytime running lights aren't good enough.

My car is set to have them come on automatically... During the day if I am driving they are always on with the parking lights lit, when night hits the headlights do the same...

I have always left alone, because it is safer to drive this way...

Yes, because I don't have a choice. The GMC truck I drive has its headlights on whenever the engine is running.

I do sometimes, when it's not sunny and then only in Chicago suburbs.
The cops in the suburbs have nothing to do (unless somebody steals a lawnmower or something similarly trivial) and they stop you for everything, from a bad hair day to driving with no lights in the sunny weather.

Yes, my car has automatic lights and they are defaulted to be on all the time that the car is in use. It's a good thing for me, being so forgetful I don't have to worry about turning them on or off.

Yes! I live in a Bi-State area and in the boredering state it is a requirement. So I turn them on automatically so whenever I go across state lines I wont 4get.
