I see this in a lot of conservatives. You are against abortion, but you favor the death penalty. Why? Isn't it taking a life either way? I don't support either. Don't you think everyone has the right to life? Young and old? Innocennt and guilty? Do people ever learn that 2 wrongs don't make a right?

chris- my cousin was raped and strangled to death when I was 13. I was angry and I loathe the man who did it, but will it bring back my cousin if we kill the man who killed her, or would it be worde for him to live out the rest of his life knowing how hated and despised he is and knowing he will always have innocent blood on his hands?

Again, this is only MY opinion...
I don't believe (now) in abortion for ME, but I have been raped and got pregnate (with NO regrets) but did have an abortion 5 years later (still no regrets). I have also had my brother murdered (9 years ago) and was the only one that DIDN'T want the death penalty for the murder.
I'm I "two-faced"? Maybe in a sense, but that is MY battle and as a "human being" I should have the right to struggle with it and not be told "how" to decide.
I can't say "YES" or "NO" to abortion or the death penalty, all I can say is that what MY choices are it is going to be ONLY me that has to stand in judgment for it.
I hoped this helped on your question...

Politics and their practitioners can all seem confusing and hypocritical. But the basic idea behind that logic is this:
Abortion, the unborn child has not yet been born into this world and has done no wrong yet, or for that matter has done virtually nothing beyond the womb, is aborted (trying to be neutral with the language used) can be seen as an act that should be illegal.
Death Penalty, the person has made the choices already in his life that others consider poor enough to end this persons life. The Death Penalty is also considered a crime deterrent.
Also something to keep in mind, Pro-Life is a term that usually specifically references anti-abortion. Unfortunately it's obvious meaning has lost to a more political meaning. (Politicians calling themselves Pro-Life yet support the death penalty, and other such loss of life events like war)
edit:If there is one thing that I notice in this, everyone who brought up their opinions is mostly either Anti-Abortion and Pro-Death penalty, or Pro-Abortion and Anti-Death penalty

Wow.
Naive.
It's pretty obvious.
An unborn baby has not killed someone or done some other unspeakable act against humanity that makes them a threat to society. How can YOU see them as the same? How can YOU not make a differentiation between that adorable little helpless and innocent baby and the man who raped your best friend then beat her to death and buried her in his yard?
NOT everyone has a right to life.
When you go around taking that right away from others, you lose your own. Society is based on the needs of the many and when one poses a threat to the lives of the people... well...
there's no point going over this again. You most likely didn't ask this question because you have an open mind and want it to be explained... you asked it because you're a Liberal and you're professing your viewpoint as the superior one and doing so by creating a contradiction where there really is none.
Sorry you don't get it.
Hope you never have a relative or friend brutally murdered so you find out firsthand why there's a difference.
I pray you instead go on being ignorant of it.
Edit-
Sorry to hear of your loss. Maybe we should let the guy out on parole in a few years, as the prisons get overcrowded and he's been on 'good behaviour' and he can victimize someone else?
No, dear, you're being ignorant. Ignorant to how life really works. He will get out if he is still in. He should be dead. He is a threat to society.

Abortion is another name for killing unborn babies. They don't have a chance to live.
Mommy’s Baby
By Mike McCracken
A baby gets conceived today
Unexpectedly
Who’d of believed
Mommy, I’m your baby
Mommy knows about me
She doesn’t seem too happy
Don’t like the way it feels
Because it’s real
Mommy wakes up sick
I’m sorry mommy
I accidentally kick
Please forgive me
She calls the abortion Doctor
Helplessly, I lay here
Mommy please don’t kill me
I’m your baby
I’m starting to grow
Mommy, I love you
Just wanted you to know
And I want to tell you
We are at the abortion clinic
She won’t go through with it
Mommy, how could you kill me?
I’m your baby.
Abortion is just another name for murdering your unborn- children.
To answer your second question.
Revenge. It makes people feel better because they see something is being done in this world to help stop bad things.
Vengeance is mine sayest the Lord.
Hebrews 10:30
The Bible.

Anti abortion and pro capital punishment is completely consistent. Here is why. We believe that innocent lives must be protected.
In the case of abortion, innocent unborn people are being killed. In capital cases the convicted person has to have committed the worst of crimes with extremely aggravated circumstances. It is not easy to get yourself convicted and sentenced to capital punishment, you know.
Once a person has proven to be that evil and to have no regard for any human life, it is our duty to protect other humans from that one. If only given life sentences, they are much more likely to kill again and again. They kill other prisoners, guards, health care workers or anyone else they come into contact with. God forbid they should ever escape!
The purpose of capital punishment is to deter crime and to protect people. The purpose of making abortion illegal again, is to deter people from participating in sexual activity that may produce unwanted pregnancies and to protect unborn people.

Quite easily. Anti abortionists want to protect innocent life. Criminals are not innocent. In fact, the people put to death in the death penalty are some of the most vile criminals ever to walk this earth.
The real question is how can you be in favor of killing innocent children and protecting crazed killers?

I see this argument often used to try to justify a "Pro choice" stance. I do support the death penalty if a very few cases but a fetus has not committed any crimes and has no choice. The murder who has killed several people made the decision to do so.

The death penalty may act as a deterrent to stop other murders from taking place. If executing a murderer saves one or more lives than it may be worth it. Murdering a fetus/unborn baby is different than killing a child rapist or mass murderer.
"Don't you think everyone has the right to life? "Innocent and guilty?"
No. If you take a look at any prison you will notice that criminals forfeit many of their rights when they choose to commit a crime. The most viscous criminals forfeit their right to life. An extreme punishment for an extreme crime.

Because an unborn baby is not a convicted scumbag and does not deserve death. How can somebody be pro abortion and against the death penalty? Just so you know I am against both as well .

Well, call me a Democrat, but I don't think I am for or against either. I see the good, I see the bad, and every case would depend on the specific details. Sometimes both should be allowed, sometimes both should not be. Maybe there should be a balanced jury (sex, race, political affiliation) to decide on every case in every state.
