i don't want to get cheap, but this neighborhood

Whatever treats you decide on, you put them in the kids' bags, don't let them grab. You can pick up big bags of mixed candy for a few dollars instead of name brand miniature candy bars or whatever. Or something besides candy (like cute pencils or party favors or something like that). It was so much easier when I was a kid, we made popcorn balls to hand out (cheap and fun), but there is too much panic anymore about people messing with stuff like that, so unless you live in a very small town, I wouldn't go there. Have fun.

go to a friends house. the easiest way out. OR go trick-or-treating yourself. I'll be 16 on Halloween this year, and I and all my friends plan on trick-or-treating well into our twenties adn thirties ^^

set out a bowl on the stoop when its done shut off the light or dark which ever comes first only big kids are out after dark any ways

Buy a HUUUUUUGE COSTCO bag of hard candy and give them only ONE each! THAT should go a LONG WAY!! =)
