That is, what questions are not meant for any person to know the answers to at any time or place?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks to everyone for the great response. Lots of good answers here. It's hard for me to pick one, so I'm letting it go to a vote.

Hypothetical questions generally seek to make a point, rather than to garner a response.

'If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?"

This hypothetical question could be asked in another way:

"If someone publishes a book that then only sits in a warehouse, is that book a form of mass communication?"

The answers to these questions could be debated. Philosophy is full of these types of questions, simply so philosophy students have something to write about.

"What happens when you die?"

How could anyone alive answer that definitively? Here's more, if you think about them:

"How long can you hold your breath?"

-or-

"How long do I have to live?"

Theses questions don't have clear-cut answers. The former could be a guess, based on the interpretation of the question as meaning, "How long can I hold my breath before I need more air to remain conscious?" The latter question, perhaps aimed at a doctor, will probably result in an educated guess, but certainly not an 'answer,' per se.

I hope this helps.

Always the ones that will get you killed...
If you are in a situation that you know the truth but it is suicide to find out and tell it... stop.
I was in Cuba several times. Once I got into an argument at a bazaar for tourists. A young boy was selling of course Chi Gavera tee shirts... I told him that this man was a murderer and we should not hold these type of murderers up as role models... etc.
All the other Cubans were watching knowing that as a tourist, Canadian, I could say anything I wanted...
After it was over the smiling Cubans came to me privately and told me they agreed...
They always have a communist leader watching them so it was private.
One man said he was a Methodist Christian and commended me for my speech.
In my broken Spanish...

The kinds of questions that present to you the opportunities for an investigation into a matter that will seriously disadvantage or damage you or any other living being or object of sentimental value you hold dear in your life.

Yeh! The ones that get you killed.
Right now there are several journalist who have been killed in troubled area's. We should be concerned about this because they are only trying to tell us what is going on.
Respect for journalist must be maintained.

G'day Semi-mad Scientist ,

Thank you for your question.

Any question where an answer would get you into trouble. For a married man, this means any question asked by your wife while purchasing a dress.

Regards

There are no questions to be unanswered for why are we here on the earth, in this lifetime, anyway?

First I figured I was on earth to learn...
I then learned I was here to love...
When I learned to love, I accepted and no longer questioned...which
lead me to "let people be"
to ask their own questions or NOT....

Why? and How?

If this computer screen is only a mechanization of my mind and the world is merely projected from it.....am I talking with myself?

IFF the world is flat yet our minds bend the light....is reality cylindrical or a giant cone morphed into calaibi-yau shapes?

Why must I see myself in the Other?
