We live in San Diego, pretty big city....and we need some foam padding for our sofa. Our loveable cat Benson decided to pee all over the couch last week, it soaked through one cushion, pretty much completely ruining it. Now our couch looks tacky as hell with two cushions left. Any ideas?

If the couch is fairly new you should contact the store it was purchased at first. It is very likely that they could order a piece of foam from the original manufacturing factory so it will match the other two perfectly.

Otherwise, most fabric stores, especially JoAnn Fabrics, have foam that can be cut to match. Next best choice is any upholstery shop can cut a piece of foam for you.

Have you tried cleaning the original foam. There are several cleaners available that remove pet odors. You should also consider the fact that the fabric covering the cushion will carry the odor and may even deteriorate due to the urine's effect on the fibers. Most likely the fabric should be dry cleaned to remove all remaining residue, but please take all the cushion covers to the dry cleaners or one may look much brighter than the others if not cleaned at the same time.

Certainly unholstery shops.

Is there a Joann Fabric shop local? A major other name fabric shop? Occasionally Wal Mart.
