An occupation that can sleep well at night is very important to me. I would rather have a job that get less pay than a doctor, since being a doctor is so stressful, and u need to be on-call. however, i want my pay-check to be more-than-enough. i want to have my own house, car, and be able to wear nice (I dont care about brands) clothes, and have starbuck coffee thrice a week :D

any idea? what do you do for a living? Thanks in advance.

P.S. scientific researcher, does this count?

As a reference, I am interested in science, logic, helping/interacting with people, and ENJOY life =D

Working in industry as a scientist or engineer can pay very well. I have worked as both, and with an advanced degee (M.S. or Ph.D.) it is certainly not unusual to make over $100,000/year. However, the more money you make the more likely you are to encounter stress in your job, even if you are not a doctor. Also, although you may not be on call, people may expect you to work long hours when a deadline is coming up.

Look for a government job position. Federal level usually will pay the highest but don't rule out state or county level either. Govt positions are relatively stressless, you don't have to work after-hours unless it's an essential service type position. Slim chances of being fired unless you really screw up, no real worries about layoffs. Federal positions give you a cost of living adjustment so it doesn't really matter where you live either, as your pay is adjusted to a common amount regardless.

Working in my Church and also working as a Care Giver. I love doing both. Working in my Church gives me peace and I love working in the Nursery. Working as a Care Giver gives me a good feeling in my heart because I care for people and I want them to be happy. I feel that I am doing something right in both of my jobs.

How about a chiropractor? Everyone apparently needs one nowasays. They can make big bucks. As one wise woman said, a chiropractor "is like a doctor, but you don't have to be as smart."
