I'm a woman. I'm terrible at math, but that's no surprise, considering that math skills don't run in my family. I'm better at science, especially chemistry, but that still isn't my forté. I would probably be great at philosophy if I had any interest in it.

I hold my own in logic. Maths -so -so, I like philosophy, still I'm no wizard at it; just like to dabble. What the truth is, is that men are just a pinch better. Don't have to being kissing any booty to admit to that. Still, I'm quite proud for what I can do. That's the secret; never mind the grass on the other side of the fence, be proud of your own grass.

I'd like to interject something here. Japan is still a very traditional country regarding sex roles in a lot of ways, but one way that their system deviates from the West's is that women currently have, and always have had complete and total control over their husbands' finances over there. Men make money, then bring it home to their wives so that they can allocate funds for bills, "allowances" for the husband and children, and what she'll need during the week to keep the household running smoothly.

Now, with that sort of emphasis on numerals and mathematics being placed squarely in the hands of females, the end result is that men in Japan typically do very poorly with math and women blaze ahead of them in that area of study. Math is the number one worst subject of male students aged 5 -18 in Japan.

But, wait, aren't women "supposed to" be bad at math? Aren't their brains "supposed to" not be able to handle numeric abstractions as well as the male brain? It's funny how, in a different culture, women are very good at something that our culture would tell them they're "biologically and psychologically" incapable of doing as well as the opposite sex.

BUT STILL THO I GUESS BOYS & GIRLS R JUST BORN 2 ACT TOALLY DIFFERENT NO MATTER HOW U RAISE TEHM RITE?

EDIT: Oh, so sorry! I penned this during my break at work and didn't have the time to actually cite my sources. Here you go, son.

Not that I think it'll collapse your worldview any; you seem to be pretty content with arrogantly assuming that your opinions are correct at all times.

I'm good at understanding underlying principles, both scientific and philosophic--part of the skill of pattern recognition. But my talents are verbal in nature.

I can keep books, make change and do long division in my head, but that's as far as I've been able to go with math. I just can't grasp the principles.

I don't believe that talents in specific areas are gender specific. Women in English speaking countries, for instance, have trouble judging distances. But we've long known that's cultural. Us guys keep lying to them about how big six inches is.

Some of that stuff I'm okay with. Some I learnt at school, some of it is just native 'knowse'. But advanced maths just loses me.

Cleverness is not sex-specific. You can have clever men and women both.

Ignore the abusive replies. That's their ignorance talking.

I'm not a man, but I'm going to answer your question anyway, if you don't mind.

I took Algebra in the 8th grade, Geometry in 9th, Trig in 10th, and got A's in those classes. I took Earth Science in 8th and got an A+, same with Honors Biology in the 10th grade. I took what were thought of as "hard" classes all the way through school, and graduated with an accumulative gpa of 3.83. I especially enjoyed math, my math classes were my favorite subjects. So were my science classes, including social sciences like psychology and sociology. I also took 4 law classes, and very much enjoyed them as well. In fact, I received an award for completing two years of law in one year (yes, this was in high school, not college.) I graduated with scholarships and spoke at our graduation. Men aren't the only people who enjoy math, science and philosophy subjects. Many women do too, and are quite good at them. Right now in college (after staying at home for fifteen years raising three kids)- I'm getting my degree in social science (psychology), I have an accumulative gpa of 3.99. Ironically, if it hadn't been for a computer class that I got a 3.8 in, I'd have a perfect 4.0. I'm halfway through to getting my degree.

EDIT: Mantis: you're awesome! LOL!

I'm receiving my BS (that's Bachelor of Science) in Biology with a double minor in Chemistry and Criminal Justice. So I would say I am good at math, science and philosophy.

Guess what I'm a chick.

the 1st answer is the awesome answer for the above question. although the question is crammed with packed with errors: no one has advised yet you settle it fairly is the suitable contribution giving vedas, puranas, and scriptures. The boatman do no longer consume vedas, puranas and scriptures. He eats vegetable and beverages water. those vedas, puranas, ithihas are literally chaning the mankind to a stable way and showing a awesome path. Unknown techniques are no longer continually stable. paths created by vedas dododod are foremost upwards in straightforward terms, to fly by the sky. The God on incarnation (why could desire to he incarnate. He can do it with out incaranation) known awesome and saved the human beings and by way of upadesa, Gods on incarnation (returned on incarnation) confirmed, guided, it relatively is okay. yet, do you recognize the different contributions performed by our maharishis to the mankind at right here.. Astronomy - No maharshi geography - no maharshis arithmetic no longer by any maharshi drugs - no longer by any maharshi humanity - could be all residing maharshis. in spite of the fact that if our maharishis stopped withe giving vedas, puranas or in addition they gave contributions to the above suggested matters ? do you recognize ? The maharishis created know-how on actual life. it fairly is proved after a number of tests medically.

I am 35 male and yes, on comparison, I am better with science, mathematic, philosophy than social skills, communication with human beings and performing arts such as dance, singing, acting etc as opposed to writing, painting etc.

Whoever told you all men are good with all those subjects was lying to you. Many men are really clueless with some or even all of the subjects you list.

You seem to be implying a comparrison with women, yet are leaving them out of your little rant. Therefore, you aren't nearly as good at logic as you think you are.
