i have two parrot fish and i just got 5 neon tetras, i left for a few hours and when i came back my neons had dissapeared, did my parrot fish eat them?

That is very possible. Parrot Cichlids can be aggressive at times and would gladly eat a few Neons. If you want to keep other Tetras with them, try a school (5+) of larger Tetras like Black Skirts, Phantoms, Rummynoses, or Congo Tetras. For 2 Parrots and a school of large Tetras, you're looking at about a 29+ gallon tank (Parrots get about 8 inches)...

Gourami an neon tetra are fine. A parrot cichlid gets about 8 inches. I'd prefer to see them in a 55 gallon or larger. The minimum for any "shark" is about 55 gallons, or 40 gallon breeder style tank.

Yep , neons must be tastey treats ,cause anything that can get them in their mouth will eat them ,I've learned this the hard way over the years .
