White or European? I've always checked the "European" or "Other" box, but am I considered White?

What about a person that is 1/2 Creole and 1/2 Italian? Is that White or Black or "Other"?

Yes, Italians are a Southern European ethnic group. And all native European ethnicities are part of the White-European race. Southern Italians usually have a darker complexion then other European groups, but they are still considered white.

Were you given a "White" box to check? Probably not, because it would be a vague question/answer, in this day where some people with the same mixed parentage are darker / paler than their siblings ... in these cases, the "Other" box would be their fate!
Would non-European races be considered white? Most northern Chinese I know are paler than people who would normally be called white.
On that matter, besides the "wog" and "dago" Mediterranean races, Irish were also referred to as black some centuries ago by English (specifically Anglo-Saxon race).

Probably depends on who you ask.
But are you white skinned or olive skin color.. That usually tells.
But a white supremest probably would not accept an Italian.

to me, anybody that is fair skinned (except asian.. and etc) is white. the term white isnt just refering to americans, ok. so.. yes.
